“The 2007 Microsoft Office suite Service Pack 2 (SP2) is the first service pack to support uninstalling the updates for the 2007 Office desktop products. “Traditionally, you cannot uninstall Microsoft Office service packs without completely uninstalling the Microsoft Office products,” the Redmond company reveals. The refresh is by no means a coincidence. The software giant did update the Knowledge Base article for the tool a few days ago, on October 25, 2011, a date which coincides with the availability of Office 2007 SP3. While the Microsoft Download Center page for the utility has remained virtually unchanged in terms of the information it provides since 2009, fact is that the tool is perfectly capable of uninstalling the recently released Office 2007 SP3. The Service Pack Uninstall Tool for Office 2007 has been available for a few years now, and it was initially designed to enable users to remove Office 2007 SP2. Customers that deploy the latest upgrade for Office 2007 but have a change of heart and wish to remove it can leverage the Microsoft Service Pack Uninstall Tool for the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite.
